Notes

The foundation of the family

-Tri-generational: God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob
-God gave Adam a job before a family
-Job, marriage, family
-God created the family before any other institution

Matthew 7:24-28 (KJV) Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock: 25 And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell not: for it was founded upon a rock. 26 And every one that heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them not, shall be likened unto a foolish man, which built his house upon the sand: 27 And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell: and great was the fall of it. 28 And it came to pass, when Jesus had ended these sayings, the people were astonished at his doctrine:

-Those that hear and do the Word of God is a wise person
-Preparing builds generational blessings on our family
-I’m not blessed in hearing; I’m blessed by doing what I’m hearing
-The foundation must be the Word of God

What does it look like when you build your family on the Word of God?

Psalm 112:1-9 (KJV) Praise ye the Lord. Blessed is the man that feareth the Lord, that delighteth greatly in his commandments. 2 His seed shall be mighty upon earth: the generation of the upright shall be blessed. 3 Wealth and riches shall be in his house: and his righteousness endureth for ever. 4 Unto the upright there ariseth light in the darkness: he is gracious, and full of compassion, and righteous. 5 A good man sheweth favour, and lendeth: he will guide his affairs with discretion. 6 Surely he shall not be moved for ever: the righteous shall be in everlasting remembrance. 7 He shall not be afraid of evil tidings: his heart is fixed, trusting in the Lord. 8 His heart is established, he shall not be afraid, until he see his desire upon his enemies. 9 He hath dispersed, he hath given to the poor; his righteousness endureth for ever; his horn shall be exalted with honour.

-The Bible is the foundation for the family
-God’s Word is priority and final authority
-The world will not move you
-Our response is always: What does the Word say?

2 Corinthians 5:7 (KJV) (For we walk by faith, not by sight:)

-Not moved by what feel, see, or hear, only by what I believe, and I believe the Word of God

Psalm 1:1-3 (KJV) Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful. 2 But his delight is in the law of the Lord; and in his law doth he meditate day and night. 3 And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper.
