Bible Story

THIS MONTH’S BIBLICAL THEME IS: The Holy Spirit Is Our Helper

No matter our circumstances, we are not alone. The Holy Spirit is our Helper. He empowers us to do God’s work, share about His goodness and lead us to Him. The Holy Spirit empowered the disciples to perform miracles and preach about the good news of Christ. Just as the Holy Spirit helped the disciples, He is still our Helper today!

This month, we are getting our wheels spinning and hitting the race track! Similar to how an engine makes a car run, the Holy Spirit fuels and guides us.

Peter Preaches at Pentecost (Acts 2:1-41)

The disciples were gathered together when a rush of wind filled the room and tongues of fire rested above their heads. God sent the Holy Spirit, just like Jesus had promised! The Holy Spirit rested upon them, and the disciples were filled with His power. The disciples miraculously spoke in languages the people around understood and shared about the mighty works of God. Peter preached and told about what Jesus had done for everyone. Three thousand people became believers in Jesus.

The Holy Spirit has existed with God and Jesus since before the beginning of time. The Holy Spirit was involved with creation, and the Spirit was active during Old Testament times. God knew after Jesus’ time on Earth, He would need to send the Holy Spirit as a helper, comforter, and guide who lives inside of those who know and follow Him forever. When we trust in Jesus as our Savior, the Holy Spirit Spirit of God lives within us.
