Bible Story

THIS MONTH’S BIBLICAL THEME IS: The Holy Spirit Is Our Helper

No matter our circumstances, we are not alone. The Holy Spirit is our Helper. He empowers us to do God’s work, share about His goodness and lead us to Him. The Holy Spirit empowered the disciples to perform miracles and preach about the good news of Christ. Just as the Holy Spirit helped the disciples, He is still our Helper today!

This month, we are getting our wheels spinning and hitting the race track! Similar to how an engine makes a car run, the Holy Spirit fuels and guides us.

Tabitha is Raised from the Dead (Acts 9:36–43)

A woman named Tabitha, whose Greek name was Dorcas, lived in the town of Joppa and worked as a seamstress making tunics and other clothing. She was known for helping others. Tabitha became sick and died. Peter was traveling nearby. The people asked him to come quickly. Peter prayed for Tabitha, and she came back to life! Many people believed in the Lord because of this miracle.

God’s power is greater than death! Because Jesus died on the cross and rose again, we can be rescued from sin. The same power that raised Jesus from the dead and raised Tabitha back to life is the power God gives us when we trust Him. The Holy Spirit’s power is available to believers in Jesus to help accomplish God’s plans and purposes.
