THIS MONTH’S BIBLICAL THEME IS: God is a Promise Maker
Throughout Genesis, God continually made promises that affirmed His covenantal commitment to His people. Despite their repeated sin, God promised to send the ultimate Rescuer to save humanity and restore the perfect relationship that Adam and Eve shared with God in the garden.

Birth of Isaac (Genesis 18:1–15; 21:1–6)
God made a covenant with Abraham, promising that Abraham’s family would be great and he would have many descendants. However, Abraham and Sarah were very old and had no children. God appeared to Abraham and promised that Sarah would give birth in a year. Sarah overheard and laughed at the idea. A year later, their son Isaac was born. God keeps His promises!
God promised Abraham and Sarah they would have a baby, and He kept His promise! He also promised from the very beginning that He would send a Savior who would rescue the world from sin. This Rescuer would come through Abraham’s family, and He was Jesus. Jesus died on the cross and rose again, making a way for us to have a right relationship with God. God kept His promise!
