THIS MONTH’S BIBLICAL THEME IS: God is with us.
Our stories this month reveal that God is always with His people. Even in times of human failure,God’s presence remained steadfast, showing that He is not confined to a place or dependent on human actions. No matter what our circumstances are, God is with us.
No matter what exciting things might be going on around us, God is the “Main Attraction”! Each Bible story ultimately points back to God’s presence and purpose. We can learn more about Him and who He is.

Elisha is Surrounded (2 Kings 6:8-23)
After the kingdom was divided, Israel and Judah had many kings, most of whom ignored God. The Syrian king sought to capture Elisha, sending a large army to Dothan. Elisha’s servant was afraid, but Elisha prayed for God to open his eyes. The servant saw God’s army in the mountains. Elisha then prayed for the Syrian soldiers' blindness and led them to Samaria, where he advised the king to spare them and host a feast instead.
Elisha’s servant felt overwhelmed by the surrounding army until God opened his eyes and he could see God’s chariots of fire. There are many times in life when we may feel surrounded and defeated. In Ephesians 1:18, Paul said he prayed that the people would have the eyes of their hearts enlightened—or opened—so that they could see the hope they have in Jesus. Because Jesus defeated death and made a way for us to be made right with God forever, we are never alone. He gives us hope that is greater than every circumstance.
