•    Are the decisions I am making getting me closer to God’s will?
•    When we are seeking His will, God will turn into blessings our wrong decisions.

3 WAYS GOD LEADS US:

1.    Through the Word
•    Every decision we make needs to agree with His word and move you closer to Him.
•    Good success comes when we are in His Word. Joshua 1:8

2.    Through an inner witness
•    Holy Spirit talks to our spirit, and our spirit talks to us through our conscience. Romans 8:18

3.   Through the fruit of the spirit
•    The fruit of the spirit is the character of Christ.
•    All our decisions need to align with the fruit of the Spirit.
•    Our decisions need to have love, peace, joy…

4.    Wait until you get the answer.
5.    Thank God for the answer.

Week 5

DESCRIPTION
In this teaching, Steve Himmel finishes our series “How to Make the Right Decisions”.  We learned three steps we can take when we don’t know what to do or what decision to make. We believe as you read these notes God's Word is working in and through you.

NOTES
Our destiny is connected to our decisions.
We need to make decisions that align with God’s plan.

•    If we are not happy where we are or where we are headed, we can change our decisions.
•    God can make a new road to make up for our bad decisions.
•    Proverbs 3:5 NLT
Trust in the Lord with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding.
•    We are still using our mind, but we will not depend on it.

WE ARE A THREE-PART BEING:

1.    Our body has a voice: feelings (we shouldn’t be led by feelings).
2.    Our soul has a voice: reasoning and logic (we need to be reasonable and logical, but if we want to fulfill our destiny we can’t be led by them).
3.    Our spirit has a voice: conscience (this is where God talks to us).  We can ignore our conscience and override it, but then it will be harder to make the right choice. Our conscience is a deep small voice.

We need an honest and humble heart.
The condition of our heart determines the quality of our decisions.

Proverbs 3:6
Seek His will in all you do, and He will show you which path to take.

-If we don’t make decisions we can get stuck in stagnation which leads to depression.
-God will make our bad decisions work in our favor.
-God wants to fight our battles for us, but we need to make sure our head doesn’t override our heart.

WHAT TO DO WHEN YOU DON’T KNOW WHAT TO DO?

In 2 Chronicles 10 we see the story of what we should do when we don’t know what to do.

HERE ARE THREE STEPS:

1.    Make a choice to increase your praise life.
a.    Praise for Who He is
b.    Praise Him for what He is doing
c.    Praise Him for what He will do

2.    Pray in the Spirit.
a.    Romans 8:26-28
b.    When we pray in the Spirit we pray God’s perfect will

3.    Ask for wisdom.
a.    James 1:6-7
b.    Expect it to be granted
CONFESSIONS:

-I will not be led by my head.
-God, today, order my steps, order my thoughts, order my words.
-My times are in your hands.

GOLDEN NUGGETS:
•    The condition of our heart determines the choices we will make.
•    Decisions determine Direction; Direction determines Destination.
•    We need to stop fixing the blame and start fixing the problem.
•    For our decisions to be the best ones, we need to be the best version of ourselves.
